Prison Inmate Search

The Delaware DOC recommends using the VINELink, the online version of Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE), to perform an offender search. If you are interested in finding an inmate housed in the state facilities, you can use the prison lookup tool. To use Vine Link, you should select the state of Delaware on the page as the offender's location and enter the offender's case, number, ID, and name. If you don't know the offender's full name or ID, you can check the partial box name or a part number and input the first two characters of the name or ID.

On the other hand, you can search an inmate through the Freedom of Information Act to request offender records from the DOC. You can fill out the FOIA Online Request Form and submit it online.

Delaware Jail Inmate Search

The state of Delaware runs a unified correctional system. Therefore, the facilities are multi-purpose as they accommodate both jail and prison offenders. In most cases, Delaware DOC differentiates a jail from prison based on the period of stay. For instance, an offender serving a sentence of one year or less is a jail sentence, while an inmate incarcerated over a year is a prison sentence.

To locate an inmate incarcerated in jail, you can use the VINE Link by providing the inmate's full name, case number, and ID. Alternatively, you can contact or visit the facility to find out if an inmate is incarcerated in a particular jail in Delaware.

Sex Offender Search

A sex offender is a person convicted of a sex offense after being proven guilty. In Delaware, most sex crime may be violators in prison, have them registered as sex predators, and undergo several treatments as conditions of probation.

To find sex offenders living around your area, you can use the Delaware Sex Offender Registry website. The sex offender registry contains details on registered sex offenders in the state. Following the Delaware Freedom of Information Act, the public can access documents maintained by public law enforcement agencies in the state. On the other hand, the State Bureau of Identification updates the details on the registry regularly to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of information on sex offenders. In keeping the public informed, the state has a subscription service that alerts the public regularly to changes within the Delaware state police. You must create an account with the Delaware Information Subscription Service site to get the notifications.

Alternatively, you can look up sex predators through the National Sex Offender Public Website, which provides information on all sex offenders in the state. The site is searchable by the offender's address or by name.

On the other hand, you can obtain the sex offender registry from third-party websites. However, the details available on the sites may vary since they are independent of government sources. To use the third-party site, you may be required to provide the offender's name and address.

Locating an ICE Detainee

You can locate a detainee in ICE custody using the Online Detainee Locator System, which provides details on detainees 18 years of age and above. You can use the following searchable options to locate a detainee;

Search by A-Number

You can find a detainee by using the detainee's Alien Registration Number. The A-Number is a special nine-digit number issued to immigrants when their A-File is made. If the A-Number has fewer numbers, you should add zeros at the beginning. You can get the A-Number on several documents, such as Green Card, Visa, immigrant fee handout, and work permit.

Search by Biographical Information

When searching by biographical details, you must provide the detainee's personal information, such as name, date of birth, age, and country of birth. You should check the misspellings, versions, reversed names or removing/ adding a hyphen.
