State Prisoner Search

Florida Department of Corrections keeps a database containing inmate information per the Freedom of Information Acts requirements. The act requires all entities to ensure that public information is accessible and available. However, the juvenile details are excluded from the public, and only a few individuals can access the information, such as attorneys, guardians, and parents.

To perform the search, visit the state offender locator website. You must provide the inmate's name and ID for a successful search. After submitting the details, the page will show you a list of inmates matching the criteria you entered. In return, you will view the inmate's information, such as the date of birth, gender, physical description, bookings, arrests, offenses committed, court dates, release date, and address.

Jail Inmate Search

Every county jail in Florida has an inmate search tool that you can use to conduct an inmate search in the state. The search tool is found on the jail website, a section of the sheriff's office website. The library and information services division gathers a county jail website database and free resources on knowing if someone is in jail in Florida. In addition, most country jails regularly publish offender rosters, while others direct interested searchers to visit in person for an offender lookup.

On the other hand, you can visit or call the county jail or the sheriff's office directly to find out if a loved one is incarcerated in any facility in Florida.

Inmate Escapee Search

The search category offers details on escapees from the department's custody. The authorities update the information regularly to ensure it's reliable and up to date. You can utilize the inmate search website to provide information that may assist in bringing the escapees back to custody. If you have information about an escapee, you can contact the DOC department to provide the necessary details. The department assures that your identity will remain confidential after giving out information concerning an escapee.

Fugitive Information Search

The category contains details on supervision releases that fail to make themselves available for supervision. The details available concerning the individuals include; name, age, height, color, address, and photographs. If you have any details concerning the whereabouts of such individuals, you should contact the Bureau of Probation and Parole, Absconder Unit.

Locating an ICE Detainee

Using the Online Detainee Locator System, you can find a detainee held in ICE custody. However, it is essential to note that the locator tool can only find detainees 18 years and above. If the detainee is a juvenile, you may be required to contact the field offices to obtain information concerning the juvenile detainee.

The ICE provides the following two searchable options;

Search by A-Number

If you are familiar with the A-Number, it is advised to use it as it provides the best results. The A-Number contains nine digits and is given to immigrants when the A-File is made. If the A-Number has fewer numbers, you should add zeros at the beginning. In addition, you should remember to include the detainee's country of birth during the search for better results. You can get the A-Number on several documents, such as work permits, green cards, passport visa stamps, and immigrant fee handouts.

Search by Biographical Information

When finding a detainee, by using biographical information, you must provide the detainee's details such as name, age, date of birth, and country of birth. You must ensure that the detainee's name appears as it should. If you cannot find the detainee, you should check for misspellings, versions, adding/removing a hyphen, or reversing names.
